Thankful for you! Plus: Survey Update

Here in the US it's Thanksgiving Day, and this year I'm especially thankful for all of you who backed the Simone & Ajax book, and I'm working hard, even today, to make this book happen. I'm also very thankful for my girlfriend, who worked very hard and put in so much effort to build the surveys and work with BackerKit to work out some glitches. If all goes right surveys should go out tomorrow, so please watch your InBox for an email from BackerKit. And please fill them out as soon as you can. Even though the book won't be shipping until spring, I want to start getting you your digital rewards, as well as start shipping some of the larger art rewards. 

I'm thankful for colorist, Jason Millet, who has now completed work on the first 2 stories in the book, so the first 2 issues, or half the book, are now finished.

I'd also like to thank, in advance, Marshall Dillon, who has agreed to do the book design. Under his skilled eye he'll make this not only a great looking book but also a book that will come out exactly right when it comes back from the printer.

Speaking of the book, I'm working hard on pencils for "Monster Mia," and there's a sneak peek of some of those pencils at the bottom of this update. I'll post more soon after I ink them.

Lastly, as always, I need your help to keep getting the word out that the book is still available to pre-order on Indiegogo InDemand at https://bit.ly/simoneandajaxgogo. Please email your friends, post online, or whatever you can do to share your excitement about Simone & Ajax. Thank you!

Simone & Ajax Survey Update and more!

Hi, Everyone!

I wanted to update you on the surveys and more. First, the final freelance stuff I was working ended up taking a little longer than I expected, but it's now done, meaning it's now all Simone & Ajax all the time until the book is done. Here are a couple pages, in case you're wondering what I've been up to. First, a page from the upcoming Jetta special, then a page from the Die Kitty Die Cosmic Fashion Show special, both colored by Jason Millet (who is also coloring Simone & Ajax), both comics coming soon from Astrocomix. You can order these at the Die Kitty Die Shop by clicking HERE. I inked Dan Parent's pencils throughout and drew a chapter in the Die Kitty Die: Starstruck hardcover, wrote and drew a story and one of the three cover options on the Jetta Special, and drew several pages for the Die Kitty Die Cosmic Fashion Show special. I hope you'll consider picking up some of these.

As for the surveys I'd hoped to have out by now, I've mentioned this is my first Kickstarter, and so each process is new to me, and the survey set-up was more complex than I'd expected. Fortunately, my girlfriend (who is much smarter than me and very good at organizational things) has been helping me get things together, so I'm hoping to now get them out next week. Please keep an eye out for them. I'll send out another update once they're all sent.  Please fill them in as soon as possible. Once I have them all back I can begin getting you your digital rewards, starting with the digital first issue. Also, since this is something that often gets asked about, yes, you can sign back in later and change your shipping address if you move between now and April. Please fill out the survey with your current info, so I can start the fulfillment wheels moving. Thanks!

Also, when you do the surveys you'll find that you can upgrade some pledges to a higher level or add-on some items, like signatures/doodles (please check if your reward level does or does not include these), extra copies of the book, and art. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me. 

In the meantime, work is continuing on Simone & Ajax. Colorist Jason Millet is working on the last two pages of the 2nd digital issue, while I'm getting going on "Monster Mia." More on that in the next update.

We Did It!

Yes, We! The book is funded at almost 3 times the original goal! I couldn't have done this without the help and support of over 400 backers who believed in "Simone & Ajax" and me! And thank you to all who also shared the campaign on social media! Now comes finishing this book to get it to you on time. I'll keep you updated here as things progress. 

What's Next?

Kickstarter will now collect your pledges. Once the funds are turned over to me (could take 2 to 3 weeks) I will begin to get the backer surveys together and out to you, so watch for that in a few weeks. Once those are filled out I can start to get you digital issues to keep you going while the rest of the book is finished.

While the books won't ship until spring, if you ordered one of the larger art rewards I will be shipping those separately and sooner. I will keep you updated.

While the Kickstarter campaign is done, people can still pre-order the book and some of the other rewards on IndieGogo at least until I ship in the spring.
